This work consisted of the reconstruction of the Clowney and Blackstaff culverts. The project involved the construction of a twin culvert 12m wide x 2.2m high and 170m long. The single culvert was 4.5m wide x 2.2m high and 350m long. The single culvert was a mixture of straight and radius construction. All the culverts were cast in 6.0m sections. At the end of the twin culvert there was an overflow chamber 37m x 15m with an 800mm deep base slab, 800mm thick walls and 1.15m deep roof slab. The total project quantities were approx 12,500m² of wall formwork, 5,800m3 of concrete and 1,200 tons of reinforcement.
